Liquid Sky - OST (1982)

This film was really interesting to watch. the idea of a malevolent/benevolent alien from some unknown part of the infinite universe draws a lot of parallels to NYC and how expansive it can seem, with all kinds of people and cultures and experiences. Liquid Sky provides a melodramatic slice of late 70s/80s counter-culture, queer culture, drug culture, and a colorfully dystopian style of futurism that gets the catch-all outsider branding of "punk". the soundtrack is anything but punk, but feels just as alien as one can in "the big city".
